Also, in lieu of an invitation system, kind of wish there were a command line tool to add an account to an instance manually. Then, I could "invite" someone by private messaging a password.
Maybe there is one, and I just don't know yet because I'm a Rails newb.

Like I said, it's a system desperately in need of improvement. It's one of the reasons I stopped accepting invites.
@lmorchard @sungo Luckily I did a data entry job in college, and I'm a fast typist. But yeah. Then told people their password and asked them to reset it.
I also tried to keep the registrations open only for short bursts so we didn't get picked up by https://instances.mastodon.xyz, but yeah… it's a broken system. Kicking myself I didn't at least write a Selenium script from the get-go.
@nolan @lmorchard This is all on the API so we should at least be able to script it.

@lmorchard @sungo TBH my brain was fried all last week from setting up the instance and getting barely any sleep so I figured I'd be better off just turning off my brain and letting my fingers work. Also I didn't realize I'd get so many signups so it was easy at first and at each point I said to myself "just a few more; there's really no point in scripting it since it's so few," and before I knew it I had added like 100. Feel pretty dumb admitting it, but... yup. 😛
